The Columbia women’s soccer team will conclude its 2025 regular season with a decisive Ivy League match against Harvard on Saturday at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium, starting at 2:00 p.m.
Both teams are competing for the final spot in the Ivy League Tournament. The winner of the match will secure a place in the tournament, while the losing side will be eliminated from postseason contention. If the game ends in a draw, Columbia’s chances depend on the outcome of the Brown vs. Princeton game; Columbia would need that contest not to end in a tie to advance.
Columbia also has an opportunity to share the Ivy League Championship. This scenario requires them to win and for Princeton and Brown to tie, followed by Dartmouth either losing or tying against Cornell.
Saturday’s game can be watched via ESPN+, and live statistics are available through gocolumbialions.com. Updates during matches can be found by following @CULionsWSOC on X and Instagram.
In their previous outing, Columbia lost 2-0 to Princeton. Dylan Jovanovic scored for Princeton in the 16th minute with assists from Alexandra Barry and Caroline Kane, while Nina Cantor added another goal with a penalty kick in the 66th minute. Samantha Mahoney made two saves for Columbia, and defenders Aoife Turner, Justina Bitzer, and Leila Hawkins held Princeton to four shots on target.
Harvard comes into this matchup with an overall record of 5-5-3 and is tied with Columbia at 10 points in Ivy League play (3-2-1). In their last game, Harvard was defeated by Penn despite outshooting them 24–4; Anna Rayhill scored her third consecutive goal for Harvard. Lauren Muniz led Harvard with three shots on goal, while Rayhill, Jasmine Leshnick, and Audrey Francois each had two attempts on target.
This meeting marks the 40th time these teams have faced off; Harvard leads the series 32-4-3. Leshnick tops Harvard’s scoring chart with four goals and two assists (10 points), while Rayhill is now tied as leading scorer with four goals as well. Goalkeeper Rhiannon Stewart ranks among league leaders for those who have started at least ten games.
Before kickoff, Columbia will recognize its senior class during Senior Day ceremonies. This group contributed to several program milestones: they were part of Columbia’s first NCAA Tournament appearance in nearly two decades—earning an at-large bid—and helped secure its first-ever NCAA Tournament victory over Rutgers at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium.
Midfielder Maia Tabion has played almost every match since joining Columbia in 2022 and received All-Ivy Honorable Mention as a first-year player. She has accumulated ten goals and ten assists over her career—including four goals and four assists during her junior year—and surpassed 2,800 minutes played as an attacking midfielder.
Forward Charlyse Berry enters Senior Day having contributed consistently up front; she appeared in fifteen games (seven starts) as a junior before scoring twice and assisting once this season.
Defender Justina Bitzer has been central to Columbia’s defense since arriving in 2022—playing all fifteen games her first year then starting eighteen times as a sophomore—helping achieve ten shutouts along with scoring once against Providence last season.
Sophia Stellabotte joined as a forward in 2024 and appeared twice throughout her career.
Columbia’s postseason fate depends not only on their result but also outcomes elsewhere across the league this weekend.
