Columbia women’s soccer draws Monmouth to close non-conference schedule

Columbia women’s soccer played its final non-conference match of the 2025 season at Commisso Soccer Stadium, resulting in a 1-1 draw against Monmouth on Sunday.

Monmouth took the lead in the 57th minute with a goal from Evangeline Perdomo. Columbia answered in the 77th minute when Maia Beltran scored inside the box, marking her second goal of the season.

Goalkeeper Samantha Mahoney made one save for Columbia, while Monmouth’s Tallulah Miller recorded three saves. In the closing stages of the match, Columbia generated several scoring chances through Charlyse Berry, Lillie Hutchings, and Gabby Chan but did not convert them into goals.

Columbia finished with a slight advantage in shots (10-8) and corner kicks (5-4). Monmouth led in saves (3-1), and both teams committed five fouls each during what was described as a tightly contested game.

Columbia will begin Ivy League play next weekend with an away game against Harvard scheduled for Saturday, September 20 at 5 p.m. in Cambridge. The full schedule for Columbia’s 2025 season is available online.
