Columbia University’s women’s basketball team secured a 70-56 victory over No. 24 Princeton on Friday at Schiller Court in Levien Gymnasium. The win marked the second consecutive regular-season sweep of Princeton by Columbia.

The Lions, now holding a 16-6 overall record and 7-2 in Ivy League play, outscored Princeton by 20 points in the second half. Perri Page led Columbia with a career-high 25 points and collected 10 rebounds, earning her fourth double-double of the season. She also contributed two steals, a block, and an assist.

“It was just execution and finding my teammates,” Page said in her postgame interview with Brooke Weisbrod and Joey Lindstrom on ESPNU. “Understanding that we have a size advantage and just making sure that I’m taking my post touches – just taking advantage of my size and executing.”

Riley Weiss added 23 points for Columbia, with 20 coming after halftime. Weiss is now eighth on the program’s all-time scoring list with 1,198 career points. Fliss Henderson also had a strong performance, recording 10 rebounds and eight points.

After trailing by six at halftime, Columbia started the third quarter with back-to-back three-pointers from Weiss as part of a 10-0 run. Page followed with consecutive baskets to give the Lions their first lead of the second half. Columbia continued to build momentum, finishing the third quarter ahead by six points.

The Lions extended their lead early in the fourth quarter with another run and held off any comeback attempts from Princeton. A late three-pointer from Weiss gave Columbia its largest lead of the game at 16 points.

Columbia dominated rebounding throughout the contest, outrebounding Princeton 43-25. The Lions also held an advantage in second-chance points, outscoring Princeton 23-14 in that category.

For Princeton (19-3, 7-2 Ivy), Fadima Tall led with 16 points while Olivia Hutcherson contributed 12 points and four rebounds.

Princeton started strong with an early run but could not maintain its momentum as Columbia improved its shooting after halftime.

Columbia will next face Penn at home on Saturday as part of an Ivy League back-to-back series. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
