The Columbia men’s tennis team defeated Harvard 4-2 at the Philip & Cheryl Milstein Family Tennis Center on April 18, moving closer to securing its third consecutive Ivy League championship.

The win brings Columbia’s season record to 15-6 and maintains their undefeated streak in the Ivy League at 5-0. The Lions have now won six matches in a row and improved their home record to 9-2 this year.

Columbia took an early lead by winning the doubles point after all three matches went into tiebreaks. Michael Zheng and Nicolas Kotzen secured a victory over Rohan Murali and Kolos Kincses, while Thanaphat Boosarawongse and Abhishek Thorat clinched another win for the Lions. In singles play, Boosarawongse continued his strong performance with a straight-set win against Melchior Delloye. Although Harvard responded by winning two singles matches, Zheng defeated Rohan Murali, and Kotzen closed out the match with another tiebreak victory.

Aditya Govila was competing in a close match on court six when play was abandoned after splitting sets with Mitchell Lee. The Lions will next face Dartmouth at home on Sunday, which will also serve as Senior Day with a post-match ceremony honoring four graduating student-athletes.

Sunday’s match is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time at the Milstein Family Tennis Center.
