The Columbia men’s golf team finished in a tie for second place at the Roar-EE Invitational, held on April 18 at Wiltwyck Golf Club in Kingston, New York. The Lions hosted the 15-team, 36-hole tournament and delivered their best performance of the season.

The result is significant as Columbia posted rounds of four-under and five-under par, totaling nine under par for the event. This marked their lowest two-round score this season and moved them from fifth to a share of second place after strong play over the final holes.

First-year players Alejandro Formosa and Neil Kulkarni were key contributors. Formosa shot an opening round of 67 and followed with an even-par 72 to finish solo third individually. Kulkarni recorded rounds of one-under 71 and two-under 70, placing him in the top ten with six birdies across his rounds. Ryan Keyes also set a personal best with a closing round of 69 that included an eagle putt on his last hole. Hunter Po improved his career-low by two strokes while competing as an individual.

Fairfield University won the tournament by two shots over Columbia, led by Rasmus Ditzinger who finished as medalist at eleven under par after shooting a bogey-free final round of 65.

Looking ahead, Columbia will compete in the Ivy League Championship from April 24 to April 26 at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, New Jersey.
