Columbia University announced on April 8 a full slate of athletic competitions for the week of April 10-14, featuring men’s and women’s tennis, archery, rowing, men’s golf, track and field, and baseball. The announcement highlights upcoming games and events taking place both on the road and at home.
The schedule includes key matchups for several teams. The men’s tennis team, ranked No. 34 nationally, will conclude its road trip with a match against No. 39 Penn on Friday before returning to host No. 37 Princeton on Sunday. Meanwhile, the women’s tennis team will wrap up a four-game homestand against Penn on Friday before traveling to Princeton over the weekend.
The archery team is set to compete in the USA Archery Collegiate Target Regionals at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The event spans Saturday and Sunday with qualification rounds beginning early Saturday morning. Columbia’s squad includes both recurve and compound archers across all class years; head coach Derek Davis will select three recurve shooters for the team competition while all nine athletes participate individually.
In rowing action, heavyweight rowers begin their spring season at the Princeton Invite racing for the Childs Cup against Penn, Princeton, Stanford, and California at Lake Carnegie. Lightweight rowers are scheduled to face Yale and Penn in Derby, Connecticut as part of Dodge Cup history—Yale currently leads that series overall.
Men’s golf continues its spring campaign at the Princeton Invitational alongside Ivy League rivals as well as regional competitors from other universities; senior George Rubelsky leads Columbia with consistent performances this season. Track & field aims to build on recent successes including a school-record hammer throw by first-year Mia Hoskins when they compete next at Rutgers Relays hosted by Rutgers University.
Baseball concludes its non-conference road contests with an away game against Fairfield on April 14 after facing Fordham and completing a three-game series versus Princeton.
