Charlotte Buck and Alexander Hedge named to USRowing’s World Championship roster

Columbia University alumni Charlotte Buck and Alexander Hedge have been named to the USRowing roster for the 2025 World Rowing Championships. The event is scheduled to take place from September 21 to 28 in Shanghai, China. Buck will compete in the women’s eight, while Hedge will participate in the men’s four.

Both athletes previously represented Team USA at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, with Buck competing in the women’s eight and Hedge serving as an alternate.

During her time at Columbia, Buck was recognized as a First Team All-Ivy League selection in 2018, received two First Team All-Region honors from the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association in 2017 and 2018, and was named to the Pocock Second Team All-America squad. She is a native of Nyack, New York, and is now a two-time Olympian.

Hedge rowed at stroke positions for Columbia’s Varsity Eight during his senior year at both the EARC Sprints and IRA National Championships. He spent three years with the Varsity Eight and was part of the 2016 IRA All-Academic Team. Hedge is originally from Morristown, New Jersey.

USRowing serves as the national governing body for rowing in the United States and is recognized by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee. The organization manages U.S. teams for international competitions such as world championships, Pan American Games, and Olympics. USRowing represents over 75,000 individuals and more than 1,300 organizations across all levels of competition.
