The City College of New York (CCNY) women’s basketball team was defeated by Lehman College 75–48 in a CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) matchup held Thursday evening at Nat Holman Gymnasium.

CCNY, now holding a record of 3-8 overall and 1-2 in conference play, started the game with strong energy. The Beavers limited Lehman to just 11 points in the first quarter and led 14–11 after ten minutes. Their early success was attributed to efficient shooting and solid rebounding.

Lehman, improving to 7-6 overall and 2-1 in CUNYAC, shifted momentum in the second quarter by outscoring CCNY 15–6. By halftime, Lehman had established a six-point lead at 26–20. The Lightning capitalized on turnovers and began asserting themselves inside the paint—a trend that continued into the second half.

In the third quarter, Lehman increased their advantage with a 23–15 run, pushing their lead into double digits. Despite CCNY’s efforts to stay competitive, Lehman’s defense forced additional turnovers and generated points through transition offense.

The fourth quarter saw Lehman further extend their margin by outscoring CCNY 26–13 to secure the win.

Three players from CCNY scored in double figures: freshman Blessings Joseph-Pascall led with 12 points—making ten of twelve free throws—while junior Ashley Colon also scored 12 points including three three-pointers. Sophomore Ashley Subervi contributed another dozen points along with four rebounds. Amanda Fisher recorded a game-high thirteen rebounds for CCNY and added six points.

Lehman was paced by Heaven Figueroa who tallied a game-high twenty-one points, nine rebounds, and nine steals. Isabela Araujo added fifteen points while Musharafa Muniru came off the bench to score twelve.

Lehman dominated inside scoring with a fifty-to-twenty advantage in points in the paint and forced forty-two turnovers from CCNY, converting those into thirty-nine points.

CCNY is scheduled to face Baruch College on Wednesday, January 14 at 5:30 p.m., as they look for a rebound performance.
