The City College of New York (CCNY) men’s basketball team was defeated by Lehman College, 69–50, in a CUNY Athletic Conference matchup on Friday night at the Nat Holman Gymnasium. The loss brings CCNY’s season record to 1–11 overall and 1–2 in conference play.

Lehman led 33–20 at halftime. In the second half, CCNY increased its scoring output with 30 points and improved performance from the free-throw line, making nine out of ten attempts. The Beavers also focused on limiting Lehman’s transition offense as they tried to narrow the deficit.

Senior Justin Morety led CCNY in scoring with 12 points, including two three-pointers. Sophomore Olabanjo Aborisade contributed 11 points off the bench. Junior Abdias Carcamo added eight points. Several players contributed as the team continued to look for consistent offensive production.

On defense, CCNY forced Lehman into 22 turnovers and converted those into 13 points. The Beavers reduced their own mistakes after halftime, committing only six turnovers in the second half.

Amar Ndiaye led Lehman with 15 points and nine rebounds, helping his team maintain an advantage through second-chance opportunities. Despite CCNY’s efforts to improve their play after halftime, Lehman’s strength on the boards played a key role in securing their win.

CCNY will next play against Baruch College on Wednesday, January 14.
