The City College of New York (CCNY) men’s basketball team was defeated by Drew University, 113–68, in the finale of the F&M Holiday Tournament held at the Mayser Center in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The loss leaves CCNY with a 1–9 overall record and a 1–1 mark in CUNYAC play, while Drew improved to 9–2 for the season.

CCNY started strong offensively, shooting 46.7 percent from the field in the first half. Seniors Justin Morety and Kayson Dinkins led their team by combining for 24 points before halftime, keeping the Beavers within reach. However, Drew University responded with efficient shooting, making 57.1 percent of their shots in the opening period and building a substantial 63–38 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Drew extended its advantage through bench contributions and aggressive defense. The Rangers scored 57 points off their bench and forced CCNY into 25 turnovers, which they converted into 34 points. Drew also dominated inside scoring with a 56–24 edge in points in the paint and added 22 fast-break points.

Justin Morety led all scorers with 21 points and collected nine rebounds for CCNY. Kayson Dinkins also scored 21 points, including four three-pointers. Freshman Olabanjo Aborisade contributed 10 points and seven rebounds, while sophomore David Leye added seven points off the bench.

Drew University had eight players score in double figures. Andre De Los Reyes and Charlie Thornton each finished with 15 points. Benjamin Manns provided 11 points and seven rebounds, while Marc Herasme added 12 points and four assists coming off the bench. As a team, Drew shot 51.3 percent from the field.

CCNY is scheduled to play next on Friday, January 2 against Western Connecticut State at 1:00 p.m.
