The City College of New York (CCNY) Baseball program recently held a free youth baseball clinic at Riverbank State Park in New York City. The event aimed to foster player development and build stronger ties with the local community.
Young athletes from various parts of New York City attended the clinic, which was open to players of all ages and skill levels. CCNY coaches and student-athletes led sessions on fundamental aspects of baseball, such as hitting, throwing mechanics, fielding techniques, base running, and game strategy.
The structure of the clinic ensured that both beginners and more experienced players could benefit. In addition to technical training, the event emphasized values like teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and confidence.
“Our goal was to make the game accessible while creating a positive and memorable experience for every athlete,” said Head Coach Scott Losche. “This clinic gave us the opportunity to give back to the community and continue growing the game right here in New York City.”
The initiative is part of CCNY Baseball’s ongoing efforts in youth outreach and community engagement.
