The latest Hitter Power Rankings were released on Apr. 16, highlighting the top performers a few weeks into the 2026 Major League Baseball season. Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers retained his position at number one, while several breakout players and returning stars made significant moves up the list.

These rankings matter to fans and teams alike as they reflect early-season trends, showcase emerging talent, and indicate which hitters are making an impact across the league.

Ohtani continues to lead with a .254 batting average, .402 on-base percentage, and five home runs through his first 17 games. He also holds a notable on-base streak of 48 games for the Dodgers. Yordan Alvarez of the Houston Astros jumped into second place after recovering from last year’s injury; he has hit six home runs with an OPS of 1.175 so far this season.

Aaron Judge remains near the top at third place for the New York Yankees despite what is considered a slow start by his standards. Judge recently hit three home runs in three games, including a long-distance shot against the Angels. Other players making notable appearances include Jordan Walker of the St. Louis Cardinals—who leads all players with eight home runs—and Ben Rice of the Yankees, who currently leads Major League Baseball in several offensive categories such as OBP (.500) and SLG (.745).

The rankings also feature Kyle Schwarber (Phillies), Corbin Carroll (Diamondbacks), Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Blue Jays), Gunnar Henderson (Orioles), and Andy Pages (Dodgers). Several additional players received votes from MLB.com experts but did not make it into this edition’s top ten.

Looking ahead, these rankings provide insight into which hitters may continue to shape their teams’ fortunes as more games are played throughout April.
