Anthony Volpe, who is recovering from offseason surgery on his left shoulder, hit a home run during his latest rehabilitation game for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on April 22. After spending four games with Double-A Somerset and recording four hits in eleven at-bats, Volpe was moved to Triple-A, where he went two-for-four with his first home run and scored two runs in the RailRiders’ 7-1 victory over Rochester.
Volpe is expected to complete 55 plate appearances and play shortstop regularly before being activated for Major League Baseball. His progress marks an important step in returning to the Yankees’ lineup following surgery.
Jasson DomÃnguez, another member of the 2025 Yankees roster currently playing for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, also hit a home run in the same game. DomÃnguez added two doubles alongside his homer, contributing to a strong performance for both players during the matchup.
The rehabilitation assignments are designed to ensure that players like Volpe regain full form and readiness before rejoining their major league team. Both performances may impact upcoming roster decisions as they continue their recovery process.
