At 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, former Grand Street Educational Campus High School standout Jayden Torres and the Alabama State Hornets were defeated 13-4 by the Alabama Crimson Tide in an NCAA Division I baseball contest.
The matchup was held at Wheeler–Watkins Baseball Complex. It marked the teams’ second meeting this season; in the previous game on Wednesday, Feb. 18, the Hornets fell 2-1 to the Crimson Tide.
In relief, Torres gave up three earned runs over 1.2 innings, finishing with three walks and one strikeout.
The Hornets are set to play next against the Longwood Lancers at 6 p.m. Friday, March 6, again at Wheeler–Watkins Baseball Complex.
