Adriano Espaillat, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 13th district since 2017, posted a series of statements on September 3, 2025, addressing issues ranging from the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein to honoring the Harlem Hellfighters.

In a post at 17:30 UTC, Espaillat called for transparency regarding the Epstein case and criticized his colleagues in Congress: “House Republicans must stop covering for Donald Trump and stand with the victims. Release the Epstein files now.”

Later that day, at 19:45 UTC, he reiterated his message in Spanish: “Los republicanos de la Cámara deben dejar de encubrir a Donald Trump y apoyar a las víctimas. Publiquen los archivos de Epstein ya.”

Between these posts, at 19:04 UTC, Espaillat also invited followers to join him and other lawmakers in recognizing a historic military unit: “Tune in as I and other Congressional Leaders Honor Harlem Hellfighters with the Congressional Gold Medal”.

Espaillat has served in Congress since replacing Charles Rangel in 2017 and previously held seats in both the New York State Assembly and Senate. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic in 1954, he is currently based in Manhattan. He graduated from Queens College, City University of New York with a BA in 1978.
