Adriano Espaillat, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 13th district since 2017, used his social media platform to remind constituents about the approaching federal tax filing deadline on April 15, 2026.
On April 14, Espaillat posted in English: ” TOMORROW IS TAX DAY — April 15.
If you haven’t filed yet, you still have time. File for free at https://t.co/JcKpgnpVD4 and don’t forget: you can request a 6-month extension if you need more time.
Don’t wait until midnight. File today. “.
He also issued a similar message in Spanish later that day: ” MAÑANA ES EL DÍA DE LOS IMPUESTOS — 15 de abril.
Si aún no ha presentado su declaración de impuestos, todavía está a tiempo. Presente su declaración gratis en https://t.co/JcKpgnqtsC y no lo olvide: puede solicitar una prórroga de 6 meses si necesita más tiempo.
No espere” (April 14).
On the morning of Tax Day itself, April 15, Espaillat reiterated his reminder with another post: ” TODAY IS TAX DAY
If you haven’t filed yet, you still have time. File for free at https://t.co/JcKpgnpVD4 and don’t forget: you can request a 6-month extension if you need more time.
Don’t wait until midnight. File today.”
Espaillat has represented New York’s 13th District in Congress since replacing Charles Rangel in 2017 and previously served both in the New York State Assembly and Senate between 1997 and 2016. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic in 1954, Espaillat has lived in Manhattan for many years and graduated from Queens College of the City University of New York in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree.
