Adriano Espaillat, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 13th district since 2017, announced on his social media the details of his annual Black History Month event and invited the public to participate.

On February 18, 2026, Espaillat posted a series of messages encouraging community members to join the celebration. In one tweet, he provided a registration link: “RSVP Here: https://t.co/Bx0mJUecfD” (posted February 18, 2026). He also promoted the event with another message: “Be part of the Celebration! Join me for my annual Black History Month event!

Doors open at 3:30pm, be sure to register today! https://t.co/FXw6nL1gJJ” (posted February 18, 2026).

Espaillat shared a bilingual invitation as well: “¡Sea parte de la celebración! Acompáñeme en mi evento anual del Mes de la Historia Afroamericana.

Espaillat has served in Congress since replacing Charles Rangel in 2017 and previously held positions in both the New York State Assembly and Senate. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic in 1954 and currently residing in Manhattan, Espaillat graduated from Queens College of the City University of New York with a BA in 1978.
