Adriano Espaillat, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 13th district since 2017, recently posted a series of updates on his official Twitter account. His posts highlighted both community engagement and ongoing political issues.
On August 26, Espaillat shared his participation in a podcast interview, stating, “I had a great conversation with the Defying All Odds Podcast! Checkout the latest episode here.”
The following day, marking Women’s Equality Day, Espaillat commemorated the anniversary of women’s suffrage in the United States. He wrote on August 27: “105 years ago, the 19th Amendment became part of the Constitution and American women could finally vote across the country. On Women’s Equality Day, we continue the fight for equality for women in every area of life.”
Later that same day, Espaillat addressed concerns regarding federal policy and its impact on Hispanic communities. He posted: “The Trump Administration is doing everything it can to attack Hispanic communities across the nation from every angle possible. We will not sit idly by.”
Espaillat has represented New York’s 13th district in Congress since succeeding Charles Rangel in 2017. Prior to his congressional service, he was a member of the New York State Assembly from 1997 to 2010 and served in the New York State Senate from 2011 to 2016. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic in 1954 and now residing in Manhattan, Espaillat graduated from Queens College, City University of New York with a bachelor’s degree in 1978.
