Adriano Espaillat, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 13th district since 2017, publicly acknowledged the contributions of his interns on July 31, 2025, through a series of social media posts in both English and Spanish.

Later that day at 17:34 UTC, he addressed his Washington office interns in English: “On this #NationalInternDay, I want to recognize the incredible interns in my Washington, DC office. Their dedication, curiosity, and commitment to public service make a real impact every day. Grateful for their hard work and look forward to all they will accomplish in the future https://t.co/STST4I7pzj”

A subsequent message at 18:59 UTC reiterated his appreciation in Spanish: “En este #DíaNacionalDelPasante, quiero reconocer a los increíbles pasantes de mi oficina en Washington, D.C. Espaillat has represented New York’s 13th district since replacing Charles Rangel in Congress in 2017. Before his current role, he served in the New York State Assembly from 1997 to 2010 and the State Senate from 2011 to 2016. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic in 1954 and currently residing in Manhattan at age 68, Espaillat is also an alumnus of Queens College (City University of New York), where he earned his BA in 1978.
