Adriano Espaillat, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 13th district since 2017, recently shared updates on community events in his district through a series of social media posts.

On August 1, 2025, Espaillat posted a message accompanied by images: “https://t.co/hEKCirT8La https://t.co/RVcyawqor7”.

The following day, August 2, he expressed appreciation for community participation in local activities, writing: “Fun with friends, families, and neighbors. Thank you to everyone who joined today’s shredding event and family fun this weekend in my district.”

Later the same day, Espaillat reiterated his gratitude in Spanish: “Diversión con amigos, familias y vecinos. Gracias a todos los que participaron en el evento de trituración de documentos y la diversión familiar de este fin de semana en mi distrito.”

Espaillat has represented New York’s 13th District in Congress since succeeding Charles Rangel in 2017. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the New York State Assembly from 1997 to 2010 and the New York State Senate from 2011 to 2016. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic in 1954 and currently residing in Manhattan, Espaillat graduated from Queens College, City University of New York with a BA in 1978.
