Adriano Espaillat, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 13th district since 2017, posted on his social media accounts about recent community engagements and funding initiatives in his district.
On March 10, 2026, Espaillat shared a message in Spanish reflecting on his visit with seniors at a local center: “Fue muy grato compartir hoy con personas mayores en el Centro para Personas Mayores A. Philip Randolph de mi distrito. Siempre es un placer escuchar sus historias, compartir novedades y pasar tiempo con los miembros de la comunidad que ayudaron a construir los vecindarios que” (March 10, 2026).
Later that day, he announced federal support for local infrastructure: “Proud to deliver nearly $1 million in Community Project Funding to support improvements at the NYCHA Jefferson Community Center. This investment will help strengthen a vital neighborhood space and ensure residents have access to programs, services, and opportunities right in” (March 10, 2026).
The following morning, Espaillat reiterated this announcement in Spanish: “Nos enorgullece entregar casi $1 millón de dólares en Fondos para Proyectos Comunitarios para apoyar las mejoras en el Centro Comunitario Jefferson de NYCHA. Esta inversión ayudará a fortalecer un espacio vital del vecindario y garantizará que los residentes tengan acceso a” (March 11, 2026).
Espaillat has represented New York’s 13th District in Congress since succeeding Charles Rangel in 2017. He previously served in the New York State Assembly from 1997 to 2010 and the State Senate from 2011 to 2016. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic in 1954 and now residing in Manhattan, Espaillat graduated from Queens College of the City University of New York with a BA in 1978.
