Adriano Espaillat, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 13th district, shared his reflections on a recent event held in El Barrio to celebrate Puerto Rican heritage. This annual breakfast aims to honor the cultural contributions of Puerto Ricans to both local communities and the broader nation.
On June 7, 2025, Espaillat expressed gratitude to attendees of the event, stating: “Thank you everyone who joined today’s annual breakfast event in El Barrio in honor of Puerto Ricans’ rich heritage and immense contributions to our community and the nation.”
Earlier that day, he mentioned preparations for the event by enjoying music from Proyecto Ray Delgado. He tweeted: “¡Preparándonos para el desayuno anual del Día de Puerto Rico de esta mañana con los sonidos del Proyecto Ray Delgado!”
Later on June 7, Espaillat reiterated his thanks in Spanish, posting: “Gracias a todos los nos acompañaron en el desayuno anual de hoy en El Barrio en honor a la rica herencia de los puertorriqueños y sus inmensas contribuciones a nuestra comunidad y la nación.”
Adriano Espaillat has been serving in Congress since 2017 after replacing Charles Rangel. Prior to this role, he was part of the New York State Assembly and Senate. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, he currently resides in Manhattan.
