On June 6, 2025, Espaillat extended greetings for Eid al-Fitr to those celebrating in his district. He expressed his wishes by stating “Eid Mubarak! Wishing all throughout NY-13 who are celebrating, an Eid of reflection, togetherness, peace, and joy.”

Later that day, he reiterated his message in Spanish at 16:36 UTC to reach a broader audience within the community. His tweet read “¡Eid Mubarak! Les deseo a todos los que celebran en NY-13 un Eid de reflexión, unión, paz y alegría.”

Adriano Espaillat has been serving in Congress since replacing Charles Rangel in 2017. Before this role, he served in the New York State Assembly from 1997 to 2010 and the New York State Senate from 2011 to 2016. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic in 1954 and currently residing in Manhattan, Espaillat is an alumnus of Queens College.
