On May 16, 2025, Espaillat emphasized the importance of grassroots engagement with diverse communities such as students, working mothers, and seniors. Adriano Espaillat was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic in 1954 and currently resides in Manhattan. Before joining Congress in 2017 after succeeding Charles Rangel, he served in the New York State Assembly from 1997 to 2010 and in the New York State Senate from 2011 to 2016.
