He stated that “¡El nuevo muro contra inundaciones de H+H es un avance crucial!” He emphasized the city’s progress since Hurricane Sandy in mitigating flood risks and reiterated the commitment to building a more resilient city.

Later that day, Espaillat congratulated his colleague Yvette Clarke on her new leadership role. He wrote, “Congratulations to my esteemed colleague, @RepYvetteClarke, on being elected Chairwoman of @TheBlackCaucus for the 119th Congress.” Espaillat expressed his anticipation of working collaboratively with Clarke to ensure resources and opportunities for their constituents.
