Adriano Espaillat, a U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 13th district since 2017, recently shared several messages on social media addressing both personal and political matters. Known for his tenure in the New York State Assembly and Senate before joining Congress, Espaillat continues to engage with his constituents through various platforms.

On June 15, 2025, Espaillat expressed appreciation for paternal figures by stating “Hoy honramos y celebramos a todos los padres, abuelos y figuras paternas en nuestras vidas. ¡Feliz Día del Padre!” This message was shared in celebration of Father’s Day.

The following day, June 16, 2025, he addressed a concerning incident involving congressional members. He tweeted that “No member of Congress should be thrown to the ground and handcuffed for doing their job or for simply asking questions.” He emphasized the need for accountability by mentioning a letter sent to Republican leadership alongside colleagues from both the House and Senate.

Continuing this theme on June 17, 2025, Espaillat reiterated his stance in Spanish: “Ningún miembro del Congreso debería ser arrodillado y esposado por hacer su trabajo o simplemente por hacer preguntas.” He noted that he joined with other representatives to demand responsibility from Republican leaders regarding these incidents.

Adriano Espaillat has been an active figure in U.S. politics since replacing Charles Rangel in Congress. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic in 1954 and currently residing in Manhattan, he holds a BA from Queens College at the City University of New York.
