Adriano Espaillat, a U.S. Congress member representing New York’s 13th district since 2017, shared his perspectives through a series of tweets on April 1, 2025. Espaillat, who has a rich history in public service including terms in the New York State Assembly and Senate, addressed various issues from immigration to political activism in his posts.

In a tweet posted on April 1, 2025, Espaillat addressed actions from the Trump Administration, highlighting issues concerning the Venezuelan asylum seekers, stating: “The Trump Administration’s generalizations, stereotypes, and criminalizations of Venezuelans seeking asylum are rooted in racism. Thank you District Judge Chen for upholding the law and these protections for families who need TPS.”

Further emphasizing the importance of judicial protection, Espaillat tweeted on April 1, 2025: “When fascism starts spreading, the courts protect us; now is when we need to protect the courts.”

In another post on the same day, Espaillat expressed support for fellow politician Senator Cory Booker: “Aplaudo a @SenBooker por ponerse de pie y crear un pequeño #BuenProblema en el Senado. Yo y muchos estadounidenses lo estamos animando cada segundo.”
