Adriano Espaillat, currently serving as a U.S. Congressman for New York’s 13th District, expressed his views on the Trump Administration’s policies through a series of tweets on March 5, 2025. Representing his district since 2017, Espaillat has been vocal about issues concerning American workers and immigration policies.

On March 5, 2025, Espaillat criticized the Trump Administration’s approach towards labor and business in a tweet: “The Trump Administration continues to side with big business over American workers. #SOTU #DemocraticResponse”.

Continuing his critique on the same day, Espaillat addressed Trump’s immigration policies. He tweeted that these policies are not aimed at deporting criminals but rather instilling fear within communities: “Trump’s immigration policies are not designed – as he and his allies claim – to deport criminals who should be deported, but to create a reign of terror in our communities. #SOTU #DemocraticResponse”.

Further emphasizing his stance against these policies, Espaillat asserted that they contribute to fear rather than security in another tweet posted shortly after: ” Trump’s immigration policies create fear, not security. #SOTU #DemocraticResponse”.
