Adriano Espaillat, currently serving as a U.S. Congressman for New York’s 13th district, expressed his support for women’s health initiatives and criticized recent budget cuts in a series of tweets. Espaillat has been representing the district since 2017 after succeeding Charles Rangel. He previously served in the New York State Assembly and Senate.

On March 10, 2025, Espaillat voiced his solidarity with several congressional caucuses through Twitter. “I stand with my colleagues in the @DemWomenCaucus, the Congressional HIV/AIDS Caucus & the @EqualityCaucus in fighting for EVERY part of EVERY woman’s health.” He emphasized their commitment to supporting women and girls living with HIV or AIDS.

Later that day, he reiterated this message in Spanish, underscoring inclusivity and commitment to women’s health across different languages. “Me uno a mis colegas del @DemWomenCaucus… No dejaremos atrás a las mujeres y niñas que viven con VIH o SIDA.”

Espaillat also criticized a funding bill proposed by House Republicans on March 10, 2025. In his tweet, he stated: “House Republicans’ funding bill is a disaster: $23B cut from veterans’ care Slashed health programs for families & seniors 32K+ vulnerable Americans could lose their homes” highlighting concerns about potential negative impacts on various social services.
