Adriano Espaillat, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 13th district since 2017, posted a series of tweets on February 10, 2026, addressing concerns about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and highlighting his participation in the upcoming Dominicans on the Hill event.

In a tweet published at 17:59 UTC, Espaillat wrote: “Donald Trump and Republicans have given ICE a slush fund to carry out terror. This radicalized Trump agency is hiring unqualified people giving them guns and badges. The results? https://t.co/VICL492KfA”.

Later that day at 18:39 UTC, he reiterated his message in Spanish: “Donald Trump y los republicanos le han dado a ICE un fondo discrecional para sembrar el terror. Esta agencia radicalizada de Trump está contratando a personas no cualificadas y les entrega armas y placas. ¿Los resultados?”.

On the same day at 23:18 UTC, Espaillat shared another update regarding an annual community event: “As we prepare for the 8th Annual Dominicans on the Hill, I was proud to welcome a special group of visitors at the Capitol and take them on a tour. I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow! https://t.co/UKCYMtB6JW”.

Espaillat has served as the representative for New York’s 13th District since replacing Charles Rangel in 2017. He previously held positions in both the New York State Assembly from 1997 to 2010 and the New York State Senate from 2011 to 2016. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic in 1954, Espaillat currently resides in Manhattan and graduated from Queens College, City University of New York with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1978.
