Adriano Espaillat, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 13th district since 2017, posted a series of statements on his social media accounts in mid-September 2025 addressing concerns about education policy and recent Supreme Court decisions.
On September 15, Espaillat shared a post that included only a link: https://t.co/B6KwOEQA0R.
Later that day, he raised concerns about the status of English language learners in the United States. On September 15, he wrote: ” Casi 5 millones de Estudiantes de Inglés en EE. UU. están en riesgo. La decisión de la Administración de reducir las protecciones y desmantelar los programas de apoyo socava décadas de derechos civiles.
Por eso, me uno a mis colegas, @RepChuyGarcia y @RepWilson, para exigir”.
The following day, on September 16, Espaillat commented on a press conference held by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) regarding a Supreme Court decision: “CHC Press Conference in Dissent Against the Supreme Court’s Attack on the 4th Amendment https://t.co/VRxXxtZWbM”.
Espaillat has represented New York’s 13th District in Congress since replacing Charles Rangel in 2017 and previously served in both chambers of the New York State Legislature. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic in 1954 and now residing in Manhattan, Espaillat is an alumnus of Queens College, City University of New York.
