Adriano Espaillat, a U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 13th district since 2017, posted several messages on his Twitter account on August 4 and 5, 2025. His posts addressed political developments in Texas and expressed gratitude to the U.S. Coast Guard on its anniversary.

(posted August 4, 2025).

The following day, Espaillat acknowledged the birthday of the U.S. Coast Guard in both English and Spanish. On August 5, he wrote: “Happy Birthday to the U.S. Coast Guard! Thank you for your service to protect our shores and save countless of lives. Semper Paratus! “ (posted August 5, 2025). He also published a similar message in Spanish: “¡Feliz cumpleaños a la Guardia Costera de EE. UU.! Gracias por su servicio para proteger nuestras costas y salvar innumerables vidas. ¡Semper Paratus! “ (posted August 5, 2025).

Espaillat has served in Congress since succeeding Charles Rangel in 2017 and previously held positions in both the New York State Assembly from 1997 to 2010 and the New York State Senate from 2011 to 2016. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic in 1954 and currently residing in Manhattan at age 68, Espaillat is an alumnus of Queens College at the City University of New York.
