Adriano Espaillat, a U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 13th District, recently shared a series of tweets addressing both political and community issues. Espaillat, who succeeded Charles Rangel in 2017, took to social media to express his views and rally community engagement.

On April 16, 2025, Espaillat tweeted about concerns regarding a potential looming constitutional crisis under the administration of former President Trump. In his post, he emphatically expressed, “¡Traigan a Kilmar a casa! ¡Ahora!”

Later the same day, Espaillat invited the public to a ‘Medicaid Matters’ Day of Action in Washington Heights, scheduled for the following day. He tweeted at 17:35, “Join us tomorrow at 11AM in WASHINGTON HEIGHTS for a ‘Medicaid Matters’ Day of Action.” The event was designed to encourage the community to come together and address health care concerns affecting them.

Further emphasizing the importance of Medicaid for the community, Espaillat took the opportunity to remind constituents of the impending event. At 18:03 on April 16, he tweeted, “¡ATENCIÓN, WASHINGTON HEIGHTS! Medicaid importa ―para nuestras familias, nuestras personas mayores y nuestro futuro.” He encouraged participation in the Day of Action, highlighting the need for protective and expansionary measures for healthcare services.

Adriano Espaillat has been involved in U.S. Congress since 2017, representing New York’s 13th District. He served earlier in the New York State Assembly and Senate from 1997 to 2016. Espaillat was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, in 1954 and is a resident of Manhattan. Espaillat graduated from Queens College, City University of New York, in 1978 with a BA.
