Adriano Espaillat, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 13th district since 2017, posted a series of statements on social media addressing national political issues and a recent tragedy in Manhattan.

On July 28, 2025, Espaillat commented on former President Donald Trump’s approval ratings, writing: “UNDERWATER ON ALL MAJOR ISSUES” From Immigration to the disastrous Epstein scandal coverup, Donald Trump is at his lowest approval ratings in 6 months. Later that day, he reiterated this sentiment in Spanish: “EN NÚMEROS ROJOS EN TODOS LOS TEMAS PRINCIPALES” Desde la inmigración hasta el desastroso encubrimiento del escándalo de Epstein, Donald Trump se encuentra en sus niveles de aprobación más bajos en 6 meses.

On July 29, 2025, Espaillat addressed an incident in Midtown Manhattan involving an active shooter. Espaillat has represented New York’s 13th District in Congress since replacing Charles Rangel in 2017. Prior to his current role, he served in both the New York State Assembly from 1997 to 2010 and the New York State Senate from 2011 to 2016. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic in 1954 and now residing in Manhattan, Espaillat graduated from Queens College of the City University of New York with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1978.
