Adriano Espaillat, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 13th district since 2017, posted a series of messages on February 7, 2026, addressing concerns about immigration enforcement and public health funding.

In an English-language post at 20:17 UTC, Espaillat stated, “ICE is terrorizing communities all across the nation. In times of such aggression, it’s important to know where you are protected by law. Thank you to everyone who showed up today to know your rights!”

Shortly after, at 21:24 UTC, he reiterated his message in Spanish: “ICE está aterrorizando a comunidades en todo el país.

Espaillat has represented New York’s 13th District in Congress since replacing Charles Rangel in 2017 and previously served in both the New York State Assembly and Senate. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic in 1954 and currently residing in Manhattan, Espaillat graduated from Queens College of the City University of New York with a BA in 1978.
