Adriano Espaillat, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 13th district, posted several statements on his Twitter account on February 19, 2026, addressing federal funding for infrastructure and calling for accountability in political leadership.

Later the same day at 19:27 UTC, he addressed issues of leadership and accountability by stating: “Leadership matters — Abuse without accountability is unacceptable. Fire Noem, now.”

Shortly after, at 19:37 UTC, Espaillat reiterated this message in Spanish: “El liderazgo importa ―el abuso sin rendición de cuentas es inaceptable. Despidan a Noem ahora.”

Adriano Espaillat has represented New York’s 13th District in Congress since replacing Charles Rangel in 2017. Prior to his tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives, he served in the New York State Assembly from 1997 to 2010 and in the New York State Senate from 2011 to 2016. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic in 1954 and currently residing in Manhattan, Espaillat earned a BA from Queens College of the City University of New York in 1978.
