Yeshiva University has taken a proactive step in response to the rising concerns of antisemitism and harassment on college campuses across the United States. In an announcement made on April 25, 2024, the university revealed its decision to reopen the transfer portal for undergraduate applicants, including its Honors program, through May 31st, 2024.

Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, President of Yeshiva University, expressed his deep concern over the recent incidents of antisemitism on college campuses, stating, "We have all watched with great shock and sadness the public protests laced with antisemitism on college campuses throughout the United States." He emphasized the university's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for all students, saying, "No Jewish student should have to face the threats and intimidation that has sadly been taking place."

Despite the 2024-2025 admissions cycle being closed, Yeshiva University is welcoming transfer students who seek a supportive and inclusive academic community. The university has also introduced a new study program in Israel in collaboration with Tel Aviv University and Bar Ilan University, providing students with an opportunity to pursue their undergraduate degrees in a different setting.

Furthermore, Yeshiva University is actively engaging with top-tier faculty members from various institutions who are seeking to align themselves with an academic institution that shares their values. As part of its expansion efforts, the university is creating new faculty positions across different fields to accommodate the growing interest from educators.

In his open letter, Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman highlighted the university's commitment to fostering a secure and welcoming environment for all students and faculty members, stating, "While our enrollments are already full for the coming year, we at the flagship Jewish university will not turn our backs on these students."

As Yeshiva University continues to evolve and expand, it remains dedicated to upholding its core values of inclusivity, diversity, and academic excellence. The initiative to support students and faculty members who may feel threatened or uncomfortable at their current institutions reflects the university's unwavering commitment to creating a safe and supportive educational environment for all.
