Assemblyman Michael Novakhov (R-Brooklyn) shared exciting news today as he announced that the 45th Assembly District has secured $20,000 in grants from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA). The funds will benefit two noteworthy organizations in the community - Homecrest Community Services and the Para Arts Foundation.
Homecrest Community Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a range of social services for seniors, youth, and immigrant families. The Para Arts Foundation focuses on enhancing the lives of disabled individuals with artistic talents by offering platforms for them to express themselves while catering to their specific needs.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Novakhov stated, "I am so proud to be able to announce our community is getting these funds. Both these organizations do great work and I know they will put this money toward improving the lives of others." He also highlighted the availability of $37 million in Capital Projects Funds, encouraging organizations to apply by January 11, with a focus on projects addressing environmental issues and promoting accessibility, placemaking, and community development. Award recipients will be revealed in spring 2024.
Novakhov reassured his commitment to advocating for funding to enhance South Brooklyn, emphasizing his dedication to supporting initiatives that uplift the district and its residents.
